When giving gifts- it really is the thought that counts. But let’s be honest- the packaging has everything to do with bringing the cute factor! When I saw these little clear boxes from Consumer Crafts, I knew I had to have them and came up with this cute “Mani” Thanks DIY gift idea!
I made these quick DIY gift idea sets for a few friends that I owe a big thank you to. I chose the sentiment “Mani” thanks. Get it? Mani- for the manicure thing. Corny sayings are the best! I also came up with: You “nailed” it! And “Toe“tally Awesome! Those all go with the nail polish theme.
Obviously you could change the contents of the clear containers of this DIY gift idea to fit whatever theme you come up with.
Supplies needed to make this “Mani” Thanks DIY gift idea:
- Clear Plastic Square Party Favors
- Shred (your choice of color, I used green)
- Washi Tape (your choice of print, I used red plaid)
- Baker’s Twine (your choice of color, I used red and white)
- David Tutera Celebrate Mini Tag Set or Scalloped Tag Punch
- 1/16″ Hole Punch (not needed with the tag set)
- Nail Polish, File and Clippers
- Computer or a pen; to generate the sentiment for the tags
The first thing I did was find my nail files. I knew this would set the color scheme for my gifts. Oddly enough, I found mine at my local grocery store in the cosmetic section. They were under a dollar. You could also check your dollar store, or box store.
Then I selected nail polish, shred, washi tape and baker’s twine to match.
I opened the package of plastic boxes, and assembled them.
Then, I turned my tag craft punch over, and framed the sentiment inside the perimeter of the cut area, and punched it out.
I used a small hole punch to make a hole at the top of the tag and tied the sentiment to the bottle of nail polish with baker’s twine.
That’s it. This DIY gift idea would be nice to make these and have them on hand for quick gifts- there is nothing here that will spoil or be out of season. I made these three gifts in less then ten minutes!
