Chevron Glitter DIY iPhone Case

I love changing out my phone case.  I use my phone so much that it’s also become a fashion accessory.  For today’s tutorial, I will show you how to make a chevron glitter DIY iPhone case with a plain plastic case.  If you’re like me, you may have a couple of spare cases lying around, and if not, they are super cheap on Amazon and ebay nowadays!

Don’t care for the chevron pattern? No problem! Just choose another pattern (that can be cut and turned into a template easily) for your own unique look.

Supplies needed to make your own DIY iPhone case:

Print out the chevron pattern.  The pattern is sized to fit an iPhone, but you can scale it larger if you have a larger phone.

glitter-iphone-2Using a craft knife, cut out the black parts of the chevron pattern.  You are making your template.

glitter-iphone-3Using tape, tape around the edges of your phone case.  This is to prevent adhesive from getting on the sides of your phone.

glitter-iphone-4Lightly spray the adhesive onto your template.

glitter-iphone-5Stick  your template onto your DIY  iPhone case, and then spray one more time.

glitter-iphone-9Now it’s time to add some glitter!

Remove the template and sprinkle glitter over the entire DIY iPhone case.

glitter-iphone-6Lightly tap off  the excess glitter. For extra protection for your new DIY iPhone case, spray 1 to 2 coats of clear acrylic sealer to keep the glitter in place. Remove the tape.

What designs can you think of to customize your own DIY iPhone case?

Hi Mahdia, thanks for your question! The chevron printable is already scaled to fit an iPhone. When you go to print, make sure the “fit to page” option is unchecked. It will then be the correct size.

      Hi RoseJean,

I have never tried on a silcone case, so I’m not sure. I would think it would but you may want to seal the glitter portion with mod podge for extra hold.
