Shabby Chic Burlap & Lace Gift Bag

Burlap crafts gift bagShabby chic, burlap, lace and a rosette. Yes, I am still on a burlap crafts kick and I think they are perfect for Valentine’s Day. This romantic bag is a special gift that will never go out of style.

To create a clean yet shabby chic burlap look you only need a few ingredients:

Shabby Chic burlap bag Cut the fabric to 11″ x 10″.  Fold down a 1/4 inch of fabric and sew the edge with a zig zag stitch.  I have found this to be the best stitch for burlap – it really helps to keep the material from fraying.  Trim off excess thread.

shabby chic lace doilyPlace the doilies and butterfly on the burlap and sew into place. Trim off excess thread.

shabby chic lace doilyFold the bag in half with the right sides facing each other.  Sew around the edges with a zig zag stitch.  Trim off excess.

shabby chic rosette directionsTo make the rosette for the shabby chic burlap bag:
Cut a strip of fabric into a circle the size that you want the rosette. Mine is 1.5 inches. Then cut a strip of fabric to 1″ x 20″. I like to cut extra long. You can always trim off excess.

Add a dollop of glue in center.
