If there is one thing I think I can never have too many of it’s fabric tote bags. One for the library, pool, several different grab-and-go craft projects and of course, reusable shopping bags.
Oh, and one more thing I can never have too many of is flowers. So why not combine the idea of flowers AND a fabric tote bag?
Here’s a little secret… you don’t even really have to do that much stitching. Bonus!
- Natural Color Canvas Extra Large Tote Bag
- Beacon Adhesive’s Fabri-Tac (optional)
- Thread and Needle
- 8 inch Doily
- 4 inch Pineapple Doily
- Small Yo-Yo Maker
- Medium Yo-Yo Maker
- Fabric Dye or left over dye from a tie dye kit
First, wash the doilies to remove the sizing and dye according to package directions. Let dry, then iron flat.
Attach doilies to the fabric tote bag in the desired pattern and either stitch in place or adhere with Fabri-Tac.
Now you have flowers, and flowers need centers.
Stitch or glue the yo-yos in place to create the flower centers.
