Are you looking for an easy way to add beauty and elegance to any craft project? I’m so happy to be sharing this tutorial on how to make metal flowers with you!
- Die Cutting/Embossing Machine
- Crafting Metal
- Quilled Creations Flower Dies
These dies are meant to be used with paper and quilling supplies but are also great with thin metal sheets! Just cut the metal to fit your die cutting machine, lay out the die cuts, and roll away. If your cuts don’t go all the way through the metal, no worries! You should be able to easily pull the metal apart and separate the flowers from the sheets.
To begin making the flower, just start rolling the end inward with your fingers. Don’ make it too tight or you’ll lose the petal details. If you do roll it tightly, just grab the middle section of the flower and wind it out counter clockwise. This should loosen the flower and you’ll be able to manipulate the flower petals a bit more.
After you’ve created the flower shape, you’re going to want to play with the petals a bit. Bending out, pushing together, spreading further, etc. until you’re happy with the look. I love this part because the metal flowers start looking so real and each one takes on a personality of their own.And that’s it, just keep repeating the steps above until you have the amount of flowers you need! There are so many different things you could do with these from wedding decorations to home decor projects. I love the idea of filling a shadow box or frame with these gorgeous gold flowers!
Hope you enjoyed learning how to make metal flowers and are ready to get creative with them! We’d love to see what you embellish with them on the Consumer Crafts facebook page!
