Getting Organized in 2010!

main

I have spoken to so many crafters that tell me in the 2010 one of their goals is to get their craft space organized.  This seems to be a common goal around the beginning of each year so I decided it would be fitting to do a few organizational related posts for all of you.  The items I will use to organize some of my supplies are items that can be used for any area of your home, not just craft related.  So as you are reading the organizational posts make sure that you are also thinking about your kitchen, bathroom, garage, storage room, etc.

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I love to organize.  Yes, it’s true!  I almost love to organize as much as  I love to craft!  My goal is to help anyone who is interested in getting organized for 2010 do that through the great low cost storage and organization pieces sold at Consumer Crafts.

Today I am posting about the Darice Jewelry Designer Bead Caddy.  When I saw this item in the Consumer Crafts catalog I immediately thought of all the brads I have for paper crafting and how I need to get them out of their packages, get them organized and much easier to get to when I need them.  The thing I love about this Designer Bead Caddy is that it has so many compartments and they all come apart.  If you remove the top cover it reveals another divided tray and if you lift out that tray there is storage inside the box as well.  The measurements of this piece are 6 1/2″ in diameter and 6″ tall.  So it is a great size to keep on a shelf or even on a desktop.

If you look at the photo above you can see all the compartments and how they come off of the main container.  So if you are going to go to a crop, take a class, go to a friend’s house, you can just pull off a container that you need and take it with you if you don’t want to take the entire bucket.  They do snap very tightly to the bucket itself so you never have to worry about them falling off either.  This is a simply wonderful storage solution for so many things!  I think I just may pick up another one to store all of my buttons in, sorted by color of course.

Please post comments or questions on this thread and I am happy to respond!  Also if you are challenged by any organization issues in your own craft room feel free to post that as well and I am happy to give you some tips and ideas.

Happy organizing!
Lisa

Great review Lisa! I think this caddy would be great for all those tiny jewelry findings, like ear wires, crimps, clasps and such. Would be easy to see what you have and know what you need more of.
