Project: Beaded Hat Pin Embellishment

finished

This is a great little beaded embellishment to dress up a paper-crafted card!  Design any card your heart desires or get some inexpensive notecards from the dollar store) , and include a ribbon wrapped around the card, with a bow tied on the front – and slip your beaded hat pin through the ribbon for extra flair and glam.

Materials:

Instructions:

  1. Start with a card embellished with ribbon (ribbon should be tied similar to the photo below).

  2. Take a look at your bead mix, and pick out 8 (or so) beads that you like best.

  3. Carefully remove the clutch that is protecting the pointy end of the hat pin, and slip the first 4 (or so) beads onto the first third
    of the hat pin.

  4. Very carefully slid the hat pin through the ribbon tied on your card.  I find it helpful to use a Glue Dot on the back of the ribbon to keep it firmly in place.

  5. Slide the rest of the beads you’ve chosen onto the hat pin, leaving a little room at the end to replace the clutch.

  6. Side the clutch firmly back in place, and voila! You have an extra special card for that extra special someone.

Happy Beading!!
