Paper Crafting: Adding Pizazz to Stamped Images

Stamping is so much fun and the treasures you can create from stamped images are wonderful.  There are so many techniques you can do with rubber stamps and today I want to focus on one of the easiest techniques which is what I call the coloring book technique.  Basically you stamp your image and color it in.  Read on to find out more detail!

First you mount your acrylic stamp to your stamp block.  Then you place the stamp in the ink pad and push down with even pressure.  When you stamp with acrylic stamps you need to make sure you do not press too hard or it spreads out the acrylic and you get a fat squishy lined image.  If you do not push down hard enough you will miss spots.  So you need firm and even pressure.

Once you have your image stamped you decide what you will use to color in your image.  For my images I chose colored pencil and brush markers.  You can also use craypas, watercolors, etc.

Now color the images in just as you would in a coloring book.  You can try shade variations and blending colors as well as you color. Tip:  If you are going to use anything wet like markers or watercolors you will want to make sure that you use a permanent ink pad to stamp your images. Once your images have been stamped you can leave them as is on your project or you can cut them out and attach where you would like them.  I cut mine out quite often  and then use foam squares to pop them up off the surface of the project I am creating.

Happy Stamping!
