Bottle Cap Mixed Media Necklace

When I got back from CHA the beginning of February I wrote a post called My CHA Update where I showed a photo of a bottle cap necklace that I really liked. Sooo I decided to give it a try… and this is what I came up with.

Here are some of the items I used:

I also used a crown from Jolee’s Boutique, Floral Embellishments from Petaloo, a heart charm and the little rhinestones … I can’t remember who they come from. This is a great project for using up all of the little bits and pieces left lying around your space.

Anyway, I laid out my design with three different sized bottle caps and I marked on the inside of each bottle cap with a Sharpie marker where I wanted to join them together.

Then on a piece of wood I put a small hole in the side of the bottle cap with a small nail and a little hammer and joined the pieces with 7mm jump rings.

I used Mod Podge Dimensional Magic inside the bottle caps, let it dry over night and attached the whole thing to the chain with 7mm jump rings.

  1. I love this! I was just wondering where you found the crown from that you used. Was it just a picture, or did you purchase a little decal from a craft shop?

    Thanks!

  2. Yes, I did. I tried and tried to find a hole punch that was just the right size but I didn’t have a whole lot of luck so I traced the bottle cap and cut the circle myself.
    I hope that helps!

  3. K. Edwards says:

Did you just cut circles from the cardstock to fit inside the bottlecaps before using the mod podge?
