How to Make a Necklace with 4 Simple & Inexpensive Supplies

I saw a leather and beaded necklace at Anthropologie a few weeks ago.  I love Anthropologie stuff but the price tag was way too steep for something that I could easily make at home.  Today, I’ll show you how to make a necklace that is similar for just a fraction of the cost!

Using scissors, cut the leather bracelet band down the middle.

Tip: Beading needles are thin and flexible. You can usually work them through the seed beads while they are still on their original strand, then cut the original strand when you have enough beads on your thread. This will save you time “fishing” for loose beads.

Once you have your first 7 inches beaded, work the beading needle through one half of the cut leather bracelet and tie a knot.

Snip off the excess bead thread once your beaded strands are securely knotted.  Repeat this process two additional times, so you end up with 6 strands of seed beads total.

This is such a great beautiful necklace. Your tutorial is very good and easy to understand. I’m a person that needs to see how things are done to be able to make it, duh, lol. I love the look of the beads and the leather band. What a clever way to put them together, brilliant. Thanks for sharing a great project. I have lots of beads, just need to get some of those nice leather bands. Happy summer
