Suede-Wrapped Rhinestone Bangle Bracelet

What do you get when you wrap soft suede cord around a sparkly rhinestone cup chain? A summer-perfect mixed media bracelet that looks equally good at the office or a weekend getaway!  These DIY bangle bracelets are so quick and easy, you can make a whole stack of arm candy while you watch your favorite TV show. Here are the directions for this easy jewelry making project:

Supplies:

Directions:

Using wire cutters, cut a length of the rhinestone cup chain that is 6 inches (approximately 24 rhinestones) long. Measure out and cut a piece of sueded cording that is around 44 inches long, and find its midpoint.

Hold one end of the rhinestone cup chain against the twist end of the bangle bracelet, with the rhinestones facing outward. Place the midpoint of the sueded cord against the back of the bangle, behind the first rhinestone.

Pull the right half of the sueded cord around to the front of the bangle between the first and second rhinestones, making sure to keep it smooth, snug, and flat against the bracelet. Continue to wrap that piece of cording around the back of the bangle, so it ends where it began on the right side.

Repeat this with the cord from the left side, crossing it over the other length of sueded cording in the front and then wrapping it around the back so it also ends up where it began.

When you reach the end of the cup chain, pull the cording up to the front and double knot it underneath the last rhinestone. Add a dab of Aleene’s clear gel tacky glue if you wish, and let dry.

Cut off any excess sueded cording, and your new bracelet is ready to wear!
