Halloween Kids Crafts – Slime in a Tube

Halloween kids crafts are right up my alley.  I like the icky gicky, gross and slimy activities.  My son is the opposite.  Nothing gross or scary for him.  When we started working on his class room party ideas I kept getting vetoed.  Then I came upon a slime recipe and we both agreed it would be fun.  I also thought it would be fun if the kids could take them home and show their siblings and parents. Thus, the tubes decorated and ready to be filled with slime.  I decorated 8 of them and I will let the kids in the classroom do the rest.

Materials used to make the Halloween classroom craft:

What You Need for the slime:

  • 16-oz box cornstarch
  • water
  • food coloring
  • bowl

To make the slime:

  1. Empty the box of cornstarch into a bowl.
  2. Add 1-1/2 cups of water.
  3. Add about 15 drops of food coloring. It’s fine without color, too.
  4. Mix the goo with your hands.
  5. Have fun!  The recipe is safe to handle, non-toxic and gross to eat.

Clean the jars and dry them.  Wrap ribbon around the top of each jar.

If you want you could also punch holes in the labels and hang them like a tag with the baker’s twine.
