DIY Decorative Tape Storage Holder

Washi Tape, how I love thee!  Do you share the same feeling?  If you do, then I’m sure you can relate to having rolls and rolls lying around — in baskets, bowls, etc.  If you know me, you might understand how much I like seeing the alternative use for things.  I recently made a decorative tray from a shadow box and today we’re going to take an unfinished jewelry holder and make use of it as a decorative tape storage holder!

It’s really a matter of painting the jewelry holder and adding washi decorative tape. However, I’ll share the step by step tutorial on how I transformed mine.

Step 1:  Let’s start by painting the holder in a white acrylic paint – one coat. Let dry completely.

Step 2:  Now we’ll paint the holder with your paint color of choice – two coats.  I used a coral acrylic paint color. Let dry.

Step 4: Add your washi tape!  This holder will store approximately 30-31 decorative tape rolls!  Fantastic, right?
