DIY Cinnamon Stick Door Wreath

With all the festivities of fall comes the task of decorating our homes for the season!  I love decorating my home with bits and pieces of the outdoors, burning pumpkin candles and you can’t leave out the aroma of cinnamon either.  Wreaths are an important element in my home decor, but I don’t seem to take a lot of time to make them for myself.  Boooo!   Recently, I saw a number of cinnamon  door wreaths on Pinterest and thought I needed to give it a try.  I put my own spin on it and I have to say that I think it turned out pretty awesome — and I love the aroma that lingers!  Sniff-Sniff.  Do you smell it?  Cinnamon.

Cinnamon-Door-Wreath-Crafts-Unleashed-2Supplies needed to make your own cinnamon stick door wreath:

Let’s get this project underway.  As I mentioned above — you’re going to need a lot of cinnamon sticks!  They are the key “ingredient” in this door wreath.

Cinnamon sticks being the main supply needed for this Cinnamon WreathI used approximately two bags of the 3″ cinnamon sticks (each bag was about a pound) for a 16″ wreath.  Grab your grapevine wreath and cinnamon sticks and let’s get this party started.

Grab your grapvine wreath and cinnamon sticks to get the project startedNow for the fun part — lots and lots of glueing!  You’re simply going to glue and place, and then do some more glueing and placing of the cinnamon sticks.  You’ll create your own masterpiece as you stack and arrange the cinnamon sticks onto the wreath.

One main step, glue, glue and more glueAnd you’re just going to keep doing that until the entire front of the door wreath is covered.

Continue to glue cinnamon sticks onto wreath and each otherI put a few on the inside , but I wanted the grapevine to be predominant on the outside of the door wreath.  It gave it a more rustic, natural look, which is what I prefer.  Once you’re done, fill in any holes or gaps (you may have to break a cinnamon in half every so often to have a smaller piece to fill in any spots) and add a pretty bow.  Voila!  You’re done!  Here’s a closer look at mine hanging.
