Cinnamon Stick Tree Ornaments

Oh Christmas Tree!  Oh Christmas Tree!  I am so excited to be working on Christmas craft projects.  It truly is the most wonderful time of the year {hee-hee}.  Well, it’s my absolute favorite time of the year.  I love the cold weather and I enjoy making homemade tree ornaments, gifts, sweets and more!  Today, I thought I’d share a super fun and simple ornament tutorial with all of you — and guess what?  It’s kid friendly too!  Cinnamon Stick Tree Ornaments.

My sister and I made these years ago and I thought they would be perfect to share with you!  Ready?

Cinnamon-Stick-Tree-Ornaments-Crafts-Unleashed-2Supplies needed to make your own cinnamon stick tree ornaments:supply2

Let’s get started by prepping all the materials.  Now is a good time to plug in your glue gun too — get her warmed up {wink}.  Cut 7″ pieces of twine and 1″, 2″ and 2-1/2″ pieces of your Canadian pine garland, using your wire cutters, for the number of ornaments you wish to make.  Once you have your pieces cut, you’re all set to start assembling!

Supplies for Cinnamon Stick OrnamentsLet’s start by gluing the pine to the cinnamon stick, placing the shortest piece (1″) at the top, then the 2″ piece, followed by the 2-1/2″ piece.  You’ll now want to glue the twine to the back of your cinnamon stick as well.  As you can see below, I knotted mine at the bottom before attaching.

Glue on pine piecesOnce you’ve completed that, it’s time decorate our tree ornaments. YAY!  Glue on your buttons.  I placed mine at the top and on each side of the branches.

Hi! Love these adorable tree ornaments however, I can’t seem to find 3/4″ garland anywhere. Can you tell me where to find such a thing? Thanks!!

  2. I did this with my nephews this past week. They loved it. Instead of buttons we used little mini candy canes and tree lights. I think their favorite part was how good the cinnamon stick smelled haha.
