Team Crafts Unleashed

Welcome to Crafts Unleashed! We’ve assembled a GREAT group of talented designers to provide our readers with step-by-step projects to keep you inspired, great technique, must-have tools, and products to “unleash” your creativity!

The Contributing Authors of Crafts Unleashed:

Adrianne is a working wife and mom of (soon to be) 2 kids.  She blogs at Happy Hour Projects where the theme is tutorials and recipes that can be made in an hour or less.  She started out making jewelry back in the 80’s, and was widely known among 3rd graders as the friendship bracelet queen.  Her style has evolved since then, but her passion for creativity has only grown.  Adrianne can be found writing, sewing, quilting, baking and crafting with a wide variety of mediums.  She enjoys day trips and date nights, and has written several bad first drafts of novels.

Ashley-picAshley is an interior designer turned DIY / Craft Blogger located in the Indianapolis area.  Her passion for interior design grew into a love of creating and one day she just decided to start blogging about it, at Simply Designing!  Ashley loves power tools and her hot glue gun, but her sewing machine slightly scares her.  She loves life and finds joy in the simple things!  Ashley loves her family and friends and is a firm believer that a good cup of hot chocolate or ice cream cures most things.  She is grateful for all she has every single day.

Bev ProfileBev’s little corner of the internet is Flamingo Toes. She grew up in a creative family of artists and seamstresses so it is no surprise that she loves to create. Bev began sewing as a teenager and made her own clothes and room décor even then. That love for DIY, crafting, and sewing has grown to include jewelry making, furniture refinishing and anything else she can learn. Her style could probably be described best as a mix between modern and vintage – she loves taking old styles and making them new and fun again. Bev is currently living in gorgeous Carlsbad, CA with her husband, two teenagers, and two cats, which are often more trouble than the two teenagers.

Morena Hockley is the crafty mind behind the tutorials at Morena’s Corner. She loves to share ideas for projects that are fast, frugal, and fabulous: easy on time and money, and great to look at!  Morena is a stay at home mom to four young children, and crafting is what helps her maintain her sanity.  It’s a wonderful outlet and it’s how she gets her “me” time.  In a past life, Morena was an elementary school teacher and an assistant principal.  She misses teaching, so her blog is in a sense a virtual classroom.  Make sure to swing by and check out Morena’s Corner!

Shaunte is a 30-something, chocolate-loving, SAHM from Utah. She has been scrapbooking since 1997, the dreaded era of photos cropped with deco scissors. Since then, her work has evolved into a clean, linear, photo-focused style. She has  been published a few times, been to a few trade shows, taught a few classes, worked for a few design teams…but have not yet lost the love for this hobby. Shaunte loves it for the creative outlet, and the good people she has met along the way. Her favorite subjects to scrap are her husband and five kids (never a lack for subject material). When Shaunte is not scrapping, she is traveling, blog-hopping, reading, or editing photo shoots. And doing laundry. Always laundry.

Susan makes things. For herself, family, friends and friends of friends. She loves a challenge and deadline. After graduating with a degree in studio art, she then got overly practical and studied advertising and public relations in grad school only to find that just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. After years of advertising and PR work and a break to start a family, art and craft have called her back in. See more of Susan’s work on her joint venture blog at crafterhoursblog.com.
